About Us / Our History
To provide financial and emotional support to breast cancer patients throughout the Greater Seacoast area of New Hampshire and Southern Maine on their individual paths toward wellness.
BreastCancerStories.org was founded in 2005 as the result of an online journal affectionately nicknamed Bald Wendy that was started by Wendy McCoole – then Executive Director – to keep her family and friends updated as she progressed through her breast cancer treatments in 2004.
The mission of the organization was to provide an online community where patients and care givers could write, read and share their experiences with loved ones and with one another.
In 2011 the organization decided to re-focus its efforts to support breast cancer patients and their family members within their local community (the Greater Seacoast of NH and ME).
Soon after they launched a new local initiative called My Breast Cancer Support and in April of 2013 the organization officially changed its name to My Breast Cancer Support.

“You are a fantastic resource for my clients and I feel blessed that you can help out! When you are diagnosed with cancer, everything is always so serious and difficult. I think a lot of times (patients) just feel very grateful and excited to have something positive come their way.”
